Did not transfer registration for dirt bike, what should i do?

ok, so i sold my dirt bike about a month ago, but being new at this i totally forgot to get the guys information, today i recieved the registration bill for the bike so, that means he hasnt transfered the title yet, since the green sticker expires this year 2007 in june, he will have to update his sticker to drive his bike. What should i do, i dont want to pay the registration fees because i dont own the bike anymore but i dont want a bad mark on my file either, i looked into sending the release of liability form but i dont have any of his information. i live in california. Is there anything i can do

Anybody know how exactly to get a title for an out of state dirt bike in Ca?

I moved it here to California from the east coast. Ive had it for like 5 years now and only used it on private land so I never registered it and i don’t have any paper work on it either. Can anyone tell me how to go about this or how to find out without going into the DMV?
i bought it from a friend who passed away awhile ago and lost the paper work without even knowing, I’m going to sell it but figured i should get a title and registration first
